Apple’s WWDC 2017 event will be happening in less than a month. We’re all expecting the Cupertino company to unveil new versions of its software, but what else will they announce? According to rumours, Apple will also launch two new hardware in it’s developers conference, including the much talked about 10.5” iPad, as well as a new Siri speaker.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI, there is more than 50% chance that Apple will launch a new Siri Speaker. It is a smart home speaker that competes directly with products like the Amazon Echo. Kuo says that the speaker will feature premium audio quality, and should come with a touch panel too. Just like most of Apple’s products, it will be an expensive product, likely to cost more than an Amazon Echo.
Ming-Chi Kuo also says that there is more than 70% chance that Apple will finally launch its all-new 10.5” iPad Pro at WWDC 2017. Previously expected to be unveiled in March/April 2017, the 10.5” iPad Pro is said to take over the iPad mini line. While it may have a larger 10.5” display compared to a 7.9” iPad mini, the rumoured iPad Pro has an all-new edge-to-edge design, giving it the same footprint as an iPad mini.
Just like previous Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple should also announce major software updates. The company is expected to announce iOS 11, macOS 10.13, tvOS 11, and watchOS 4. Sadly though, Ming-Chi Kuo did not provide any details about these updates.
Since Kuo is not even 100% sure about these announcements, do take the report with a pinch of salt. Apple could change its plans anytime, so just wait about three weeks more for the official announcement. What are you looking forward to the most this WWDC 2017?
