Back when HMD Global launched its range of Nokia devices in MWC 2017, we were told that these devices will be available on our shores within the second quarter of 2017. Well, there’s a very good chance it’s going to happen soon: the new Nokia 3310, Nokia 5, and Nokia 3 recently passed through our local certification body.
Avaxx, the long-time distributor of Nokia devices in Malaysia, has registered three new phones with SIRIM: TA-1053, TA-1032, and TA-1030. A quick search on Google revealed that these devices are in fact the Nokia 5, Nokia 3, and the new Nokia 3310 respectively.
While it’s great to see that Avaxx is gearing up to bring these Nokia devices into Malaysia, there’s one smartphone missing from the list: the Nokia 6. Now, it’s entirely possible that the company simply hasn’t registered the device with SIRIM yet. After all, the Malaysian retail prices of the Nokia 6 – as well as the new Nokia 3310 – have already been leaked last month.
Now that these Nokia devices have been registered with SIRIM, it probably won’t be long before they’re officially launched in Malaysia. Hopefully, they will be competitively priced too: we imagine many consumers will be interested in the new Nokia 3310.
