GoPro’s first drone, the GoPro Karma, is now officially available in Malaysia. The drone has been on sale beginning 7 May 2017, and is available at selected retailers and on online stores.
The GoPro Karma is the first attempt by the company better known for its action cameras. The Karma is essentially an accessory to its action cameras – it supports the Hero5 Black as well as the Hero4 Black and Hero4 Silver. The 3-axis stabiliser can be detached from the drone and used together with the Karma Grip that allows users to capture handheld footage in a manner that is similar to the DJI Osmo.
As many would remember, the Karma was recalled shortly after it was launched last year when the drone suffered cases of sudden loss of power mid-flight. The company has re-launched the drone with a redesigned battery latch, which adds 5g to the drone’s weight.
The GoPro Karma drone retails for RM5,999, bundled with the HERO5 Black and a Karma Grip as well as a backpack to carry all of them. The drone will also be available for online purchase at Lazada, 11street, and Shopee as well.
Not to forget, sole distributor Funsportz is also organising a Karma roadshow from 24 to 28 May in Mid Valley Megamall for those who would like to check out the drone in person.
