With the aim to make smartphones more accessible, Celcom today has launched its brand new EasyPhone installment scheme for Celcom First plans. In time for the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in Malaysia, both devices will be the first to be offered under this new scheme starting from tomorrow onwards.
Among the distinct characteristics that made the EasyPhone different from traditional installment plan is that it doesn’t require credit card during sign-up. In fact, there are no upfront fees involved as well for customers that have been with the telco for at least 12 months.
For new customers, they do need to pay 3 months’ worth of EasyPhone monthly fees upfront which will be credited back into their account. Here is the list of EasyPhone monthly charges for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ which has contract duration of 24-months:
The launch of EasyPhone scheme doesn’t mean that Celcom has discontinued the traditional installment scheme though. Under the existing scheme, Celcom customers are able to obtain the new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ at discounted price as shown below:
According to Celcom’s Chief Marketing Officer, Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are just the first of many smartphones that will be made available under EasyPhone scheme veryson. New devices will be apparently added to the list on weekly basis and it is likely that all devices that currently available from Celcom can be obtained through EasyPhone scheme by end of May.
