While most of the attention at last night’s Microsoft EDU event in New York went to Windows 10 S and Surface Laptop, there was actually another new product that made a rather quiet debut on stage. It wasn’t surprising that many didn’t noticed it though as the new Surface Arc Mouse looked exactly identical to the existing Arc Touch Mouse.
The Arc Touch Mouse is one of the company’s most enduring product since it was originally released at the end of 2010. The mouse itself is an evolution of the original Arc Mouse which made its debut few years prior to Arc Touch Mouse.

While the Surface Arc Mouse still retained the same snap flat design which made it easy to transport inside one’s bag or pocket, what made it different from its predecessors is the existence of what Microsoft referred to as the “scroll plane” that covers both of its buttons. This particular addition allows users to scroll both horizontally and vertically using the mouse via touch gesture.
At this moment, Microsoft has yet to reveal the release date and pricing for Surface Arc Mouse in Malaysia. In case you are wondering though, the Bluetooth-based mouse carries a price tag of USD 79.99 (about RM 346) and scheduled for release in United States this June which is just in time for Surface Laptop’s roll out.
