Aside from its range of computer peripherals, Logitech makes some pretty interesting accessories for other devices too. The company’s new Logitech Slim Folio keyboard case for the new 9.7-inch iPad is one such product, and it will likely outlast your iPad with its four-year battery life.
By taking advantage of Bluetooth 4.0’s low power consumption, the Slim Folio keyboard can last up to four years with its coin cell batteries. However, Logitech mention that this is only with two hours of daily usage; using the keyboard any longer per day will – in theory – reduce the promised four-year battery life.
With power efficiency in mind, the Slim Folio keyboard understandably doesn’t feature any backlighting. Fortunately, it seems to sport a pretty standard keyboard layout – which is always a good thing – with what seems like a decent amount of key travel. The Slim Folio also has a row of dedicated iOS-centric keyboard shortcuts.
While the Slim Folio isn’t the sleekest-looking keyboard case, it’s definitely more practical than it is stylish. Measuring 20mm thick and weighing 435g, this keyboard casing shouldn’t add too much bulk to the 9.7-inch iPad.
The Logitech Slim Folio keyboard case will be available in the US sometime this month for $99; that comes up to about RM425. Although it remains to be seen if the Slim Folio will be available in Malaysia, there’s a good chance it will arrive here. Logitech has quite a presence here, after all.
