As you might have heard, Microsoft will be having a press event later tonight in New York which will apparently focused on education. That being said, words within the rumor mill stated that Microsoft might be launching a simplified version of Windows 10 called “Windows 10 Cloud” or “Windows 10 S” alongside a new Surface product that features the new OS at the event.
Thanks to the prominent Microsoft-focused leaker h0x0d, this might be the first look at the said product. Referred to as “Surface Laptop”, no specifications were mentioned though although the device will indeed run on the equally new Windows 10 S and features a 13.5-inch PixelSense touch display:
Additionally, the laptop will apparently features Alcantara-covered keyboard which seems to be adapted from the existing Surface line-up. In terms of its physical dimension, the Surface Laptop has a thickness of between 9.9 to 14.47 mm while it weights at around 1.25 kg.
From the 360-degrees image of the device, the Surface Laptop will apparently carries only one USB port as well as a mini DisplayPort, and 3.5mm audio jack which is nothing out of ordinary for a Surface product.
Words within the rumor mill have also pointed out that Surface Laptop might have similar premium nature as per Google Chromebook Pixel. If that’s the case, then this device might carry a hefty price tag and might be not be released in Malaysia anytime soon or ever.
Nevertheless, let’s not get ahead of ourselves here and let’s wait for the official announcement from Microsoft’s event in New York tonight.
