Aside from the slim and powerful Predator Triton 700, Acer also unveiled a more…modest offering: the Acer Predator Helios 300. Featuring an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or GTX 1050 Ti GPU, the Helios 300 is a plenty capable gaming laptop; it also comes with Acer’s new second generation AeroBlade 3D metal fan.
While not as thin as the Triton 700, the Helios 300 does come with the same AeroBlade 3D metal fan as the former. With the promise of 35% increase in airflow, heat shouldn’t be much of an issue for the Helios 300. Other than that, the laptop also comes in two sizes: 15-inch and 17-inch. Both models offer 1080p Full HD IPS displays, which make a lot of sense for a gaming laptop of its caliber.
Moving on, the Helios 300 can be configured with a 7th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, up to 16GB of DDR4 memory (upgradable to 32GB), a SATA SSD, as well as a 1TB HDD. In terms of connectivity, the Helios 300 has a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a USB 3.0 port, a pair of USB 2.0 ports, as well as an HDMI 2.0 connection.
The Acer Predator Helios 300 will retail from $1,299 (about RM5,658) for the 15-inch model. The bigger 17-inch variant, on the other hand, will go from $1,399 (approximately RM6,095). As for availability, both models of the Helios 300 are expected to start shipping in July.
