Xiaomi has just announced the Malaysian availability of its latest budget-oriented smartphone: the Xiaomi Redmi 4X. Set to go on sale this weekend on 22 April, the Redmi 4X joins the Redmi 4A – which now comes with 32GB of storage as well – in Xiaomi’s range of affordable phones.
As far as specifications go, the Redmi 4X is comfortably a lower mid-range smartphone. For our market, we’re getting the higher-end 32GB variant with 3GB of RAM. The Redmi 4X also comes with a 5-inch 720p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, a microSD card slot, a 13MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus, and a 5MP front-facing shooter.
Aside from these specifications, one of the standout features of the Redmi 4X is its battery life: Xiaomi claims that the 4X has up to 18 days of standby time, which is pretty impressive. This shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the fact that the Redmi 4X has a very generous 4,100mAh battery. Other than that, the Redmi 4X also ships with MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The Xiaomi Redmi 4X will be available for purchase in Malaysia on 22 April 2017 for RM679. For our market, two colours of the Redmi 4X are available: black and gold.
