With the arrival of AMD Ryzen processors in Malaysia starting with Ryzen 7 last month before followed by Ryzen 5 last week, several manufactures have also released their AM4 motherboards in our market to support customers that want to build system using AMD’s latest creation. For those who prefer ASUS motherboards, there are four options that currently available in Malaysia.
Leading the line-up is ROG Crosshair VI Hero which is currently the best AM4 motherboard in ASUS stable and also the very motherboard that came with our AMD Ryzen 7 1800X review kit. Being the leader, it is not surprising that the motherboard is equipped with AMD’s top of the line chipset, the X370 that brings support for overclocking and dual graphics cards regardless of AMD CrossfireX or NVIDIA SLI.
In addition to that, this particular motherboard is also equipped with both USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C ports with data speed of up to 10 Gb/s alongside eight USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports. It also comes standard with a Gigabit LAN port that is powered by Intel I211-AT controller and covered by LANGuard surge protector.
Furthermore, the ROG Crosshair VI Hero also features SupremeFX S1220 codec, ESS Sabre ES9023P digital-to-analog converter, and Texas Instruments RC4580 op-amp as part of its high quality integrated audio components. Of course, the motherboard also comes with two customizable Aura Sync RGB LED zones.
At the same time, ASUS has also released several AM4-based Prime motherboards in Malaysia for those who are looking for more down to earth solution. They come in the form of overclock friendly Prime B350-Plus and its mATX twin Prime B350M-A, while the Prime A320M-K is meant for users who don’t require overclocking capability and looking for a no-frills mATX Ryzen motherboard.
In terms of pricing, the ROG Crosshair VI Hero carries a price tag of RM 1,395 while the Prime B350-Plus, B350M-A, and A320M-K are priced at RM 533, RM 445, and RM 303 respectively.
