Just a couple of weeks ago, Sony launched the Xperia XZs and Xperia XA1 in Malaysia, but there were two notable devices missing from the list: the Xperia XZ Premium and Xperia XA1 Ultra. Well, it appears these two devices will be coming to Malaysia; registration of interest for the XZ Premium has been opened too.
We caught wind of this when we visited Sony Malaysia’s product listing for its range of smartphones. There, the Xperia XZ Premium and the Xperia XA1 Ultra are listed; both of them are said to be “coming soon” too. More likely than not, Sony Malaysia is planning to bring these two devices into our market.
The Xperia XZ Premium will be Sony’s first true flagship this year. It features an impressive 5.5-inch 4K HDR display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, the same 19MP Motion Eye rear camera found on the Sony Xperia XZs, a 13MP front-facing shooter, a water-resistant body, as well as a 3,230mAh battery.
As for the more affordable Xperia XA1 Ultra, it’s equipped with a 6-inch Full HD display, a MediaTek Helio P20 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage, and a modest 2,700mAh battery. The XA1 Ultra also packs a 23MP rear camera and a 16MP front-facing snapper.
Although there’s no concrete date on when the Sony Xperia XZ Premium and XA1 Ultra will be introduced in Malaysia, there’s a good chance they’ll be launched here sometime in the coming months. For now, you can sign up for the XZ Premium’s registration of interest here.
