Fnatic has announced an interesting new lineup in preparation for The Summit 7. The state of the team was in question after losing talisman and team captain Mushi, leaving Ohaiyo and Febby to rebuild from the failure at ESL One Genting.
The team welcomes Djardel Jicko B. Mampusti a.k.a DJ back to the fold. DJ had earlier joined the team for a reasonable successful stint in TI6, and Fnatic is looking to rekindle some of that magic.
“When people ask me why I rejoined Fnatic, the answer is always the same – ‘Because Eric asked me to’. It might sound like a joke, but it is actually testament to how close I am with the management and players from Fnatic. I think that we are building a great team and I think we can go far,” the Filipino national said.
Also joining the team are Kim “QO” Seon-yeop and Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen. Like DJ, QO brings with him a vast amount of experience from competitive play at the top level. Interestingly, his run at TI6 was ended by Fnatic in the knockout stages.
Meracle, formerly of Mineski, joins in the number 1 position for Fnatic. He is generally known as one of the best Naga Siren players in the world. While he lacks the same competitive experience as his team-mates, Fnatic believes that he will be able to fill the carry position.
This new Fnatic team is set to play its first competitive game on 7 April, at the beginning of the qualifying campaign for The Summit 7.
