Netflix has quietly update its Windows 10 app to support offline play. The option now allows users to download selected shows for viewing later; which is a feature what has been on the mobile app for some time now.
Users are free to adjust the resolution of the downloads in the app settings; which will also tell them how much storage all those movies happens to be taking up. At the moment, downloaded videos only come in SD and HD versions, but we expect that there will be 4K content appearing at some point.
The option to delete all videos from the hard drive with a single button is also a nice touch.
Not all movies can be watched offline at the moment. It looks like Netflix still has a lot of licensing negotiations happening; and the offline shows are largely either Netflix originals or older movies.
