If you are using a Tune Talk prepaid number and are running low on data, you may now request your friends and family to purchase a data plan on your behalf. Tune Talk has just introduced a new Airtime to Data Transfer, allowing Tune Talk subscribers to purchase data for each other.
Sadly though, it looks like the validity of data that you transfer is half of what is offered if you purchase the plans by yourself. The 1GB plan for RM8.80 is only valid for 3 days (usually 1 week), while the 4GB and 8GB plans have a 14-day validity period only.
To purchase data for your family and friends, simply send an SMS “D (keyword) (space) (Tune Talk number of the person you are purchasing data for)” to 23332, for example “D100 0105001234”. Tune Talk will then send you an SMS confirmation. You may pick from a list of four Datatata plans ranging from 100MB to 8GB.
To request your family or friend to purchase a data plan for you, simply SMS “RD (keyword) (space) (Tune Talk number of the person you are requesting data from)” to 23332. After that, just wait for the person to accept your request.
Do note that just like a regular airtime transfer, the telco will charge you RM0.10 for every SMS sent. On top of that, there is also a transaction fee of RM0.50 for data sender for each successful data transfer. A fee of RM0.20 will be charged to the data requester for each successful data plan purchase. Both parties must be in active status with sufficient credit and data balance to perform the transaction.
