It looks like we’re getting one step closer to the actual launch of Radeon’s upcoming graphics card. The most recent indicator of this came in the form of a few images that claimed to be the RX 580 and RX 570 graphics cards. For those who aren’t aware, previous rumours strongly suggest that both of these will merely be ‘rebrands’ of Radeon’s older RX 400 series graphics cards.
Judging from the leaked images, there does not seem to be much difference between the cooler shroud of the RX 500 series graphics cards compared to their predecessors. Radeon still went for the all black cooler shroud and the blower style fan. Like reference RX 400 series graphics cards, both the RX 580 and RX 570 will not be equipped with a backplate.
Of course, it should be noted that these leaked images are of the engineering sample of the RX 580 and RX 570. That said, we don’t expect Radeon to change the look of these graphics cards too much for the consumer version. The leaked images also indicate that the RX 580 may draw power from an 8-pin power connector.
Folks at VideoCardz have also obtained a screenshot that details the alleged specifications of the RX 570. Based on screenshot, it can be seen that Radeon’s RX 570 may come with a GPU clock speed of 1244MHz, which, if true, will make it slightly faster compared to the older RX 470. Regardless, Radeon’s RX 500 series graphics cards may ‘very likely’ be launched sometime in April – hopefully.
