It looks like Google has finally decided to release an iPad version of its Calendar app. Google Calendar was previously only available for iPhone, Android phones and tablets, and on the web.
Sure, you can still browse the web version of Google Calendar on an iPad, but with the new app, Google Calendar is fully optimised for the iPad. You will still see the same interface you are familiar with, as well as additional features like the ability to search your calendar using Spotlight Search on your iPad’s home screen.
On top of that, you can also make use of Google Calendar’s machine intelligence-powered features to:
- Find a time and book a room. Get everyone together faster for meetings. With smart scheduling, Calendar suggests meeting times and available rooms based on your team’s availability and room preferences.
- Set Goals and achieve them. Add a goal and Calendar will intelligently schedule time for it so you can stick to it.
The new iPad app also brings all the current features offered by Google Calendar like using Reminders to create and view to-dos alongside your events, and puts all your calendars including Exchange and iCloud into a single place. Google Calendar can also automatically add events such as flight and hotel reservations into your schedule, lets you create quick events, and more.
Google Calendar for iPad should be available right now, so head on to the App Store to download it. Google says that they will be adding more features in the future, such as a Today View Widget to see your upcoming events in the Notification Center and on the lock screen.
