The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ have just been announced globally moments ago, and we can now share more details about Samsung’s plans to launch it here in Malaysia. The Samsung Galaxy S8 pre order will take place first, before being made available nationwide.
Pricing and the actual availability of the devices announced today, including the Samsung DeX, Gear 360, and Gear VR are all still not confirmed for the Malaysian market. That said, the company has comfirmed that all accessories will be made available alongside the Galaxy S8 and S8+ in Malaysia.
Lee Jui Siang, VP of IT and Mobile at Samsung Malaysia Electronics, confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ will open for pre orders in Malaysia from 11 to 13 April 2017. The actual availability date has not yet been confirmed, but Jui Siang stated that it is “very close” to the global release date of 21 April.
Jui Siang also confirmed that the company will be putting together an attractive pre-order bundle, though details will only be revealed closer to the Samsung Galaxy S8 pre order dates.
Aside from that, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ will only be available in three colours in Malaysia: Midnight Black, Maple Gold, and Orchid Gray. The other two colours (Coral Blue and Arctic Silver) will not be available at launch, though it may yet come to Malaysia at a later date. After all, Samsung has done this before with the Galaxy S7 edge colours.
