The Moto X series hasn’t seen any new addition since the Moto Z lineup was announced, but it’s likely that will change this year. If a recent leak is to be believed, Lenovo may be releasing a new Moto X device in the near future – it seems to be a pretty solid mid-ranger too.
This leak comes from a post on hellomotoHK’s Google+ account, which has been taken down at the time of this writing. Nonetheless, hellomotoHK mention that the device pictured is indeed the 2017 iteration of the Moto X; looking at its specifications, it’s likely the successor to the 2015 Moto X Play.
Right, specifications: based on the leaked images of the alleged 2017 Moto X, the device is packing the very power-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, 3GB of RAM, as well as 32GB of storage. Yes, these aren’t exactly cutting edge hardware, but they’re certainly appropriate for a mid-range smartphone.
Aside from that, the images of the Moto X also show a rather premium-looking – in comparison to the new Moto G5 smartphones – all-metal body design with Moto’s signature dimple on the back cover. There’s also a dual-camera system on the back of the Moto X; it’ll certainly be interesting to see Moto’s iteration of a dual-camera setup.
It’s evident that Moto is slowly – but surely – making its presence felt in the mobile space; that’s certainly going to be the case for Moto Malaysia from what we’ve been told. Regardless, it probably won’t be too long until Moto officially unveils this mysterious device.
