Sony has just launched two brand new smartphones in Malaysia: the Xperia XZs and Xperia XA1. Considering the fact that these two devices were launched just last month at MWC 2017, it’s a pretty timely launch.
Let’s start with the higher-end device of the two, the Xperia XZs. In many ways, the XZs is similar to the Sony Xperia XZ, but it does feature a particularly interesting new feature: its 19MP rear camera is capable of 960fps video recording.
Aside from that, the Xperia XZs also features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, 13MP front-facing camera, a 2,900mAh battery, as well as a power button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor.
And then we have the more affordable Xperia XA1. It’s equipped with a 5-inch 720p display, a MediaTek Helio P20 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, 23MP rear and 8MP front-facing shooters, and a 2,300mAh battery. Much like the Xperia XZs, the XA1 also ships with Android Nougat out of the box.
The Sony Xperia XZs and Xperia XA1 will be available for pre-order in Malaysia from 29 March to 9 April at selected Sony Stores, Sony Centres, authorised dealers, and 11street. Those who pre-order the XZs will receive a SBH80 Stereo Bluetooth Headset, a UCH12W Quick Charger, as well as a silicon case and tempered glass screen protector. As for the XA1, early pre-orders will get a complimentary DK60 Charging Dock, silicon case and glass screen protector for the device.
As for retail price, the higher-end Xperia XZs will go for RM2,899, while the more budget-friendly Xperia XA1 is priced at RM1,199.
