If you are using an iPhone, Mac, Apple TV or an Apple Watch, it’s time to check for a software on your devices. Apple has just released its iOS 10.3, macOS 10.12.4, tvOS 10.2 and watchOS 3.2 updates, bringing the usual bug fixes, improvements, along with some new features.
iOS 10.3 is available for iPhone 5 and above, 4th generation iPad and above, and 6th generation iPod touch and above. For those of you who are using Apple’s AirPods, this update is a significant one for you. It brings a new Find My AirPods function to the Find My iPhone app, so you can easily locate the very expensive pair of earphones that you definitely should not misplace in the first place. Other notable changes include CarPlay improvements, and a new Apple File System (APFS) that may free up some space.
As for macOS users, the macOS 10.12.4 update finally brings Night Shift to the Mac. Perfect for those who are always on the computer especially before bed, Night Shift will adjust the colour of your display after sunset. It shifts the colour of your display to the warmer end of the spectrum, making it easier on your eyes.
Other changes in macOS Sierra 10.12.4 include:
- Adds Siri support for cricket sport scores and statistics for Indian Premier League and International Cricket Council
- Adds Dictation support for Shanghainese
- Resolves several PDF rendering and annotation issues in Preview
- Improves the visibility of the subject line when using Conversation View in Mail
- Fixes and issue that may prevent content from appearing in Mail messages
Other updates released today include tvOS 10.2 that features some minor changes, an improved Remote app that is optimised for iPads, and watchOS 3.2 that finally brings Theater Mode to the wearable. Theater Mode lets users mute the sound on their Apple Watch and avoid waking the screen on wrist raise.
The updates should be available now, so check for a Software Update under the Settings app of your iOS device, visit the Mac App Store for macOS update, or update your watchOS via the Watch app on your iOS device.
