Two weeks ago, we noticed that the Meizu Pro 6 Plus was registered with SIRIM, our local certification body. Now, Dynamics Distribution has confirmed on its Facebook page that Meizu’s latest flagship smartphone will indeed be sold in Malaysia, and it is competitively priced too.
According to Dynamics Distribution’s Facebook post, the 64GB variant of the Meizu Pro 6 Plus will be available in Malaysia; it appears the distributor won’t be bringing in the 128GB model for the time being. Although 64GB of storage isn’t exactly small, it’s worth noting that the Pro 6 Plus doesn’t support expandable storage.
Nonetheless, the Pro 6 Plus is still a very capable flagship smartphone. It features the very same Exynos 8890 processor found in Samsung’s 2016 flagship smartphones, a 5.7-inch 1440p Super AMOLED display, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, a 12MP f/2.0 rear camera with optical image stabilisation and phase detection autofocus, a 5MP front-facing shooter, as well as a 3,400mAh battery.
Naturally, the Pro 6 Plus also comes with a fingerprint sensor on the front of the device, not to mention a rather unique ring flash made up of 10 dual-tone LEDs on the back of the device.
The Meizu Pro 6 will be available in three colours in Malaysia: Grey, Silver, and Gold. Although Dynamics Distribution only mention that the Pro 6 Plus will be available in Malaysia “soon,” it did reveal that the device will go for RM1,999 locally; that’s a pretty competitive price tag.
