Uber has announced that it has expanded into three new cities in Malaysia: Alor Setar, Langkawi, and Miri. This announcement comes just in time for the LIMA ’17 exhibition taking place in Langkawi this week.
Uber is also the official ride-sharing partner for LIMA ’17; which likely explains the timing of this announcement. This also includes additional promo codes for those requesting rides in Langkawi from 21 to 25 March. LIMA ’17’s Facebook page has extra details on the promotion.
The company is also celebrating its three years in Malaysia with a promotion for the rest of the country. From 21 to 27 March, passengers can use the promo code “UBER3RDBDAY”, to receive a 33 percent discount on their ride. The code is only good for five rides; so don’t over do it.
Uber currently caters to 12 cities in Malaysia, covering almost all state capitals and major tourist destinations. Interestingly, Kota Bharu remains as the only state capital without any Uber services.
