Oukitel has officially entered the Malaysian market today, and it’s doing so by launching two new smartphones on our shores: the Oukitel K6000 Plus and the Oukitel U16 Max. If you’re in the market for an affordable smartphone, these new Oukitel devices may be worth a gander.
The more interesting phone of the two is the K6000 Plus. It features a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a MediaTek MT6750T 1.5GHz octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, 16MP rear and 8MP front-facing cameras, as well as a huge 6,080mAh battery, which is rather impressive. However, this does result in a rather thick device.
A tier down is the slightly more affordable U16 Max. As its name suggests, the U16 Max packs a large 6-inch HD display; it is also equipped with a MT6753 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 13MP rear shooter, and a 5MP selfie camera. Oddly enough, despite being a bigger device than the K6000 Plus, the U16 Max has a smaller 4,000mAh battery.
Despite not having the absolute best hardware, it’s great to see that both the K6000 Plus and U16 Max run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. In addition, they also feature fingerprint sensors, which is really becoming standard hardware with today’s smartphones.
Both the Oukitel K6000 Plus and U16 Max will be available in Malaysia sometime in April next month. The K6000 Plus will go for RM999, while the U16 Max retails at RM889.
