Instagram is finally updating its app to allow you to save Instagram live video to your phone. This update is very useful for those who would like to save a special moment up to watch again later or share permanently on your feed.
With the update, once your live broadcast ends, you can tap on a save button on the upper right corner. Instagram will only save the video to your device; comments, likes, views and any live interactions will all be gone. In case you are worried about privacy, the live broadcast would only be saved into your phone, and it will disappear from your Instagram feed.
Previously when Instagram first launched Live videos, it did not allow users to save the video. Once a live broadcast ends, the video would disappear, no replays allowed. Instagram says that this would lessen the pressure that videos would be save forever. Don’t worry though, your video will still disappear from the Instagram app so no one can save your embarrassing moments that happened during the live broadcast, but you have the flexibility save it to your device and laugh at it later.
This update is available for Instagram version 10.12 available for iOS and Android devices.
