Maybank has streamlined its mobile banking experience with a new app. Simply titled the Maybank app, it mainly focuses on a revamped interface to achieve this end. That is not to say that there is nothing new to be seen.
On the whole, the app introduces a cleaner UI that’s easier to interact with. There’s a lot more space for information to be processed. Making for less busy menus and clearer options.
It isn’t only a new UI that awaits Maybank users. The bank has allowed users to register new open bank transfers through the app. A feature that sorely missed in the current Maybank2u app. A partnership with several other companies has also introduced the ability to view electronic bills from Astro, Celcom, Digi, and TM. According to a Maybank representative, this list will be expanded to include other vendors over time.
Additional security features are now present. For one, fingerprint reader integration allows users to login using the biometric scanner. That said, this option only unlocks the app for balance checking.
The app will also automatically log the user out in the event that it is pushed into the background. This is meant as a security feature to prevent people from accidentally leaving their bank accounts open to strangers.
Maybank is scheduled to release the new app for Android and iOS devices on Thursday. The current Maybank MY app will still function until further notice, although there are plans to phase it out once more customers switch over to the new app.
