It’s now even more affordable to own an iPhone. Well, an iPhone SE, anyway. On its Facebook page, Switch – a local Apple reseller in Malaysia – announced that the 16GB iPhone SE is now going for only RM1,699. For the sake of comparison, the base model of the SE originally retail at RM1,945.
Although a RM250 price cut doesn’t seem like a big deal in the grand scheme of things, the fact that Malaysian consumers can own an iPhone for RM1,699 does sound rather compelling. Then again, it has been roughly a year since the iPhone SE was made official, so a price cut makes a lot of sense (if not expected).
However, it appears Switch is the only official Apple reseller to reduce the price of the 16GB iPhone SE; other parties such as Machines and Apple itself still list the base iPhone at RM1,949. On top of that, the 64GB variant of the iPhone SE doesn’t see any price revision either: it’s still going for RM2,199 after a price cut back in September last year.
Regardless, it’s great to see that the iPhone SE is more affordable than ever now. If you’re keen to get your hands on the phone, you can do so on Switch’s online store.
