Looking forward to more Android smartwatches from luxury watchmaker, Tag Heuer? Your wait is almost over. The company recently confirmed that it will unveil its next generation Connected smartwatch on 14 March 2017.
Tag Heuer did not say much about what they will launch; all it did was post two teasers on its Twitter account. The first is a picture of what looks like a Tag Heuer Connected watch, along with a caption telling people to stay tuned to 14 March, and the hashtag “#ConnectedToEternity”. The second teaser is a video using the same hashtag.

It is believed that the next generation Connected smartwatch from the company will be more suited to women. According to Engadget, Jean-Claude Biver, the CEO of Tag Heuer, mentioned before that “women had input – don’t be surprised if you see an option for smaller case, different colours and other features that make the wristwear more accessible.”
As for rumours and leaks, previous leaks suggests that Tag Heuer will opt for a modular design, with swappable timepiece so you can switch to a mechanical timepiece one if the digital one isn’t fashionable enough. In addition to that, it should come with more features such as support for Android Pay, brighter screen, GPS, and will of course, run on Android Wear 2.0.
As for the price, it will not be cheap, but that clearly isn’t a problem for those who wish to get a luxury watch with the latest technology on board. Earlier this year, Tag Heuer said that they have sold 56,000 units of its Connected smartwatch, almost three times as many as its 20,000 sales target for the year. Rumours has it that the company will set a target of 150,000 units for its upcoming product. Just a little reminder, the original Connected smartwatch from Tag Heuer costs a whopping US$1,500 – that’s about RM6,680, for the base model.
