After launching the Huawei P10 series in our local market, Huawei also confirmed with us that it will be releasing the Huawei Nova Lite in Malaysia. Seems like Huawei is focusing quite a bit on the mid-range market on our shores.
Also sold as the honor 8 Lite in certain markets, the Nova Lite packs modest hardware. These include a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a Kirin 655 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, 12MP back and 8MP front-facing cameras, as well as a 3,000mAh battery. The Nova Lite also has a glass back, much like the higher-end honor 8.
When asked about the Malaysian availability of the Huawei Watch 2, Huawei mentioned that it is still in discussion to bring in the smartwatch into our market. Interestingly, a representative of the company also said that Huawei is in talk with certain telco companies in Malaysia concerning the Huawei Watch 2. This doesn’t come as a surprise as the smartwatch comes with several standalone connectivity features.
At the time of this writeup, it still remains to be seen just how much the Huawei Nova Lite will be priced once it’s available in Malaysia. Considering the fact that it has similar hardware as the RM1,299 P10 Lite, we imagine the Nova Lite will be priced in the same price range.
