Last month, there were speculations that Apple will hold its annual spring event in March 2017. Sadly, till today, the Cupertino company has not send out any invitations. According to the latest rumours, the iPad event is now scheduled for 4 April 2017, and will take place at Steve Jobs Theater on the new Apple Park campus.
The rumour comes from Apple World Today, who also says that the new device would have the “same day” availability after an announcement. Of course, this is just a rumour for now. Last year, Apple sent out an invite on 11 March 2016 for an event scheduled for 21 March 2016. It’s still early in the month, and Apple could still stick to its March schedule.
Apple World Today believes that Apple will host the event on April in conjunction with opening of the new Apple Park.
“This makes sense for one more reason as well. At Apple’s last event at 1 Infinite Loop, Tim Cook noted that it would be the last one at the current Apple headquarters. We now know that Apple Park is scheduled to open in April, 2017. It could be that Apple will have the reveal of the new iPad lineup in the 1,000-seat Steve Jobs Theater onsite.”
Apple is expected to announce new iPad devices at its spring event. Rumours are saying that the company will introduce three models – an upgrade to the 9.7” and 12.9” iPad pro, and a brand new 10.5” variant. The former two will feature the usual modest annual upgrades with better and faster processor, upgraded camera, and such.
Apple is also expected to launch a red iPhone 7
The big announcement would be the 10.5” iPad Pro, which is speculated to replace the iPad mini line. It will feature an edge-to-edge, giving it the same footprint as an iPad mini, and just like the OLED iPhone 8 rumours, there will be no Home Button on board, and will have only a small top bezel for the FaceTime camera. Apple is also expected to make some small announcements, including a 128GB iPhone SE, as well as a red iPhone 7.
