Last week, we reported that the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro has been registered with SIRIM, suggesting that the device may be launched in Malaysia soon. Well, it appears there was a dealer event held for the device, and the C9 Pro will very likely retail at RM2,299.
For that kind of money, the Galaxy C9 Pro packs a sizeable 6-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor paired with 6GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a large 4,000mAh battery, as well as a fingerprint sensor. In the camera department, the C9 Pro is equipped with a 16MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and a 16MP front-facing shooter.
Even though the Galaxy C9 Pro is an upper mid-range device, its – supposed – RM2,299 retail price is certainly on the higher side of things. After all, capable flagship smartphones like the OnePlus 3 and Huawei P9 cost less than that these days, although it’s worth noting that the C9 Pro also has a metal unibody design.
However, this unofficial retail price has not been confirmed by Samsung Malaysia itself, so things may change. Samsung Malaysia just announced that the Galaxy C9 Pro will indeed retail at RM2,299 in Malaysia. The device will be available locally from 10 March onwards.
