Samsung QLED TVs Coming to Malaysia in April 2017

In addition to the CH711 Quantum dot curved monitor, Samsung is also ready to release its latest range of QLED TVs to the Malaysian market very soon. The QLED series was just launched in January at CES 2017.

Having already pioneered Quantum dot display technology which debuted in last year’s SUHD TVs, Samsung has refined the technology on the QLED TVs. By adding new metal material to nano-sized semiconductor quantum dots, Samsung’s second-gen Quantum dot display technology displays 100% colour volume and a peak brightness of HDR 1,500 – 2,000 nits. It also results in deeper blacks, superior brightness, lifelike colours, and wide viewing angles.

To complement the new display tech, Samsung also refreshed the design language of the new QLED TVs. Across the range the TVs have metal backs with hairline finish, and a sleek “invisible” fibre optic cable that connects to the Samsung One Connect box, which holds ports for various I/O options.

This cable is 6m long, allowing users to remove clutter away from below or around the TV, and leaves a clean look with the already-translucent cable capable of being routed through the TV’s stand.

The new QLED TVs come in 55, 65, 75, and 88-inch screen sizes, in both curved and flat panels. Samsung has not yet committed to retail prices for any of these models, but we’re told to expect a similar price range as last year’s SUHD models that the QLED TVs replace.
