When it comes to moving to a new processor, it is not just about new chip and motherboard as there are also components that users need to consider alongside their spanking new processor and motherboard. For those who planning to bring their existing Cooler Master coolers to their future AM4-based motherboards and AMD Ryzen processors, then you might want to check out what the Taiwanese company has announced recently.
Earlier this month, Cooler Master has addressed the AM4 compatibility within its air and liquid cooling product by releasing this list:
As you can see, quite a number of Cooler Master’s thermal products are already able to support AM4 natively including those that were just announced at recent CES 2017 such as the MasterLiquid 120/240 and MasterLiquid Lite 120. However, some do need to be used with the company’s AM4 Upgrade Kit in order to be compatible with the upcoming Ryzen processors.
If you own such products, don’t be worried though as the Upgrade Kit can be obtained for free directly from Cooler Master APAC’s online store. That being said, you still have to pay shipping fee for the kit though but that is still better than being left with incompatible cooler.
