It looks like AMD isn’t the only graphics company that’s going to be making an appearance during this year’s Game Developer Conference. Nvidia too will be holding an event at GDC 2017, which apparently is dubbed by the company as a “GeForce GTX gaming celebration.” To make things even more interesting, both Nvidia and AMD’s event will be taking place on the same day!
“Come join us for an evening of awesome PC gaming, hardware, tournaments and of course free food, drinks and a few other amazing surprises” says Nvidia. Obviously, the company has made no mention of what that ‘surprise’ actually is, but most of us would probably root for an unveiling of the fabled GTX 1080 Ti graphics card – or at least a sneak preview.
That said, unlike its close rival AMD, Nvidia has not stated whether this event will be live streamed. It’s worth noting that Nvidia’s GeForce GTX gaming celebration event will be held on 1 March at 11am Malaysia time. AMD’s Capsaicin event, on the other hand, will start earlier on the same day at 2.30am.
Whilst it’s far too early to tell what Nvidia will be bringing to GDC 2017, it seems every unlikely that the green company will be mentioning anything regarding its upcoming Volta GPU architecture. Regardless, we’ll just have to wait until the event itself to know for sure.
