HP has begun a new Cybersecurity awareness campaign with a webseries featuring Mr Robot star Christian Slater. Titled The Wolf, the series serves to highlight potential attack vectors from hackers targeting businesses and promote HP’s own secured devices.
Running for a total of six minutes over four episodes, The Wolf features Slater working his way through a fictional company’s cybersecurity to access valuable financial information. It shows a simplified version of hacking a corporate network, but is likely to be the most accurate representation of a cyberattack in the media so far.

According to HP’s claim, only two percent of all printers are secured; making them an ideal gateway for hackers looking to bypass a corporate firewall. Interestingly, the series also shows precisely what a proper email phishing attempt looks like as well.
It’s no surprise that HP went with Slater to headline this awareness campaign. The actor has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity since starring in the series Mr Robot; which happens to be centered on cybersecurity.
Of course, HP also has a micro-site to help promote its own efforts. Businesses can take a survey to gauge the vulnerability of their own networks; pointing out where the corporation can improve.
