Illegear is back with a budget minded gaming laptop for gamers with limited funds. The new Illegear Q5 Evo technically hit the streets a week ago, but the company is only now making an official announcement.
The Q5 Evo essentially looks like Illegear’s Q5 with updated with the latest internals. The base model ships with an Intel Core i5-7300HQ processor, with 4GB single channel RAM. Graphics are provided by an Nvidia GTX 1050 4GB VRAM, with a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display to make full use of the GPU. A 1TB HDD rounds out the hardware.
Naturally, Illegear allows the Q5 Evo to be customised with better hardware, offering options for an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor and Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti 4GB VRAM. Memory options go up to 32GB of high performance RAM; although this is probably the most expensive upgrade out of everything Illegear is offering.
Storage upgrades include expanded space; along with a choice between a HDD and SSD. As is often the case with Illegear, customers may also choose to add a pair of M.2 SSDs in a RAID configuration.
The Illegear Q5 Evo starts from RM3,999 for the basic model, but can easily go up to RM12,423 for all the best hardware options. This doesn’t include the additional display tuning and after-sales services offered by the company.
Illegear’s online store has more information about the Q5 Evo for those interested in picking up a lower end gaming laptop. Just remember to not go overboard with the available options.
