Huawei’s latest version of Android, EMUI 5.0, is only available on a couple of the company’s devices; these include the Huawei Mate 9 series as well as the Huawei P9. Now, the Chinese company recently announced that it is currently looking for beta testers for EMUI 5.0 on the company’s mid-range device: the Huawei Nova Plus.
Based on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, EMUI 5.0 brings with it several nifty new features. These include split-screen mode, which allows users to run two apps side by side at the same time, as well as a redesigned notification panel. Although it still remains to be seen if EMUI 5.0 would be any different on the Nova Plus, these native Android Nougat features should still be available to the device.
Despite being a mid-range device, the Nova Plus is still a rather interesting device. It’s equipped with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a 3,340mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone, as well as 16MP rear and 8MP front-facing cameras; the rear shooter comes with optical image stabilisation too.
Seeing how Huawei has started recruiting beta testers for EMUI 5.0 on the Nova Plus, we imagine it won’t be too long until the update officially rolls out to the device. If you’re interested to sign up for the beta test, you can do so here.
