As expected, LG has just confirmed that it will be launching its next generation flagship smartphone, the LG G6, at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017. The company recently posted a new teaser for the LG G6, teasing it as a “big screen that fits.”
To be announced on 26 February 2017 at Sant Jordi Club, Barcelona, the LG G6 will come with a large 5.7” 1440 x 2880 display with a unique aspect ratio of 18:9; LG calls this “Full Vision”. This will make the phone a little taller compared to the regular 16:9 aspect ratio found on most smartphones today.
Despite its large display, LG says that it will still “fit”. In a previous leak, we saw that the LG G6 has a very high screen-to-body ratio of over 90%. This is very impressive, especially considering that the Xiaomi Mi Mix’s bezel-free display has a screen-to-body ratio of 91.3%. On top of that, LG has been teasing about bigger screens for some time now, so if you are a fan of big screens with minimal bezel, this is definitely something to look forward to.
Other rumours of the LG G6 include glass and metal design for a premium look and feel, water resistant build, fingerprint sensor, dual-camera system, and will be powered by an older Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor instead of the latest Snapdragon 835 processor.
