Browsing through your favourite videos on YouTube has just gotten a lot easier. Google recently updated its YouTube app, allowing users to double tap to rewind or fast-forward in videos.
With the update, simply double tap on the left side of the video to rewind 10 seconds back, or double tap on the right to move 10 seconds ahead. The update should be available right now for YouTube app on both iOS and Android devices. While the new double tap gesture is quite redundant in short videos since you drag the seek bar below to move back and forth, it is very useful for hour-long videos and all you want to do is rewind 20 seconds to the part you missed.

This is not a brand new feature on YouTube though. Over a year ago, some users reported that they were able to use gesture to move forward or backward in a video. The feature was removed shortly after and made an appearance again in December last year, and it looks like Google is finally ready to release it to the public.
The feature should be available now for iOS and Android users, so update your YouTube app and try it out now.
