Palit has announced its brand new flagship graphics card called the GeForce GTX 1080 Dual OC Edition.According to Palit, despite being based on the original GTX 1080 graphics card by Nvidia, the GTX 1080 Dual OC does come with its own technologies that make it slightly better than the Founders Edition card.
When it comes to design, Palit has stated that the GTX 1080 Dual OC was designed to provide consumers with the best cost to performance ratio. It features a 0-dB Tech technology, which only enables the cooling fans to activate once the Pascal GP104 hits 50°C. In addition, the GTX 1080 Dual OC is also fitted with a bracket that is apparently designed to look like a ‘honeycomb’. This, interestingly, results in an increase of airflow by up to 15%.
Now comes the most important part: performance. Most of us would perceive a ‘flagship’ graphics card as one that comes with significantly higher clock speeds compared to the reference card, right? Unfortunately, that isn’t the case with the Palit GTX 1080 Dual OC. The graphics card boasts base and boost clock speeds of 1620MHz and 1759MHz respectively. These clock speeds are admittedly a minute increase over Nvidia’s Founders Edition GTX 1080.
Palit has not mentioned about the release date and pricing of its flagship GTX 1080 Dual OC Edition graphics card, yet.
