Back in December, we have noted on how UniFi customers need to provide their consent before TM is able to upgrade their Internet speed as per Prime Minister’s announcement during the tabling of Budget 2017. However, the website for customers to do so finally goes online today.
Under the “Thank You Surprise” campaign, customers need to provide their details at this website before their new Internet speed is revealed. As you might have known, they will be upgraded to the next best tier in the sense that 30Mbps customers will be moved to 50Mbps while the 50Mbps users will be able to enjoy 100Mbps.
This upgrade comes at no additional cost from what customers already been paying at the moment although the way the charges are noted in their monthly bills will looked slightly different. Additionally, customers’ contract will not be renewed as well.
Once customers agree to have their Internet speed upgraded, all they need to do then is to wait for a SMS that TM will send once the upgrade has been implemented to their UniFi. When that happens, they will then have to turn off their UniFi modem for 10 minutes before they able to enjoy the new speed.
As for when exactly the speed upgrade will take place, the website stated that it will take place anytime between January and June 2017 as the process will be done in stages. For benefit of everyone, you can check out the FAQs as well as the TnC of the Thank You Surprise campaign below for further information.
