We all know that Super Mario Run mobile game will be available for Android devices as well. You can pre-register to be notified when it comes out, but when exactly will that happen? According to the official Twitter account for Nintendo, the Android version of the game will be out in March 2017.
Super Mario Run was first announced for iOS devices at Apple’s iPhone 7 launch event last September. The app was finally released to the public in 16 December 2016 for iPhone and iPad devices and it looks like in about two months time, Android users will finally get to see how Nintendo’s first official mobile game is like.

Super Mario Run is definitely a very popular game. When it first became available for download, it broke records with 40 million downloads in just four days, however, the number of downloads does not exactly mean success. The app was plagued with poor reviews, mostly with people complaining how expensive it is (US$9.99 for the US and RM39.90 for Malaysia) and how you need an active internet connection to play. The Japanese company’s share price also dropped during the same time frame.
Let’s hope that things will be a little better for Nintendo when they finally launch the Android version of the game. Will you pay RM40 for a vertical scrolling game featuring one of your favourite game characters in your childhood?
