Starting off the year on a positive note, Acer today has officially announced the arrival of several new 4K (3840 x 2160) monitors in Malaysia. Earlier in the month, the company has also released a FreeSync gaming monitor for the entry-level market.
Leading the line-up is the Predator XB321HK gaming monitor which is essentially the big brother to the Predator XB271HK that we’ve reviewed before. Built with a 32-inch 60Hz IPS panel, the gaming monitor also offers 4ms GTG response time, built-in 2W speakers, and four USB 3.0 ports. Just like its 27-inch brother, the XB321HK is also a G-SYNC monitor.
Acer has also released the XR342CK curved monitor in our market which is also a follow-up to another monitor that we reviewed in 2015, the XR341CK. While Acer did retain many of XR341CK’s features for XR342CK including 34-inch 75Hz IPS panel and FreeSync support, the new monitor also has double the curvature rating than its predecessor at 1900R as well as improved location for its OSD buttons which was one of XR341CK’s major downside.
For those who prefer to own a larger 4K display, there is also the ET430K monitor. It might not have much bells and whistles as per two other 4K monitors that we’ve mentioned earlier but it does carry a huge 43-inch 60Hz IPS panel with 5ms GTG response time alongside a pair of 7W speakers.
Meanwhile, Acer has launched the XF240H gaming monitor in Malaysia which only offers a maximum resolution of full HD (1920 x 1080) but it is still a serious gaming monitor. Comes with FreeSync support, the 24-inch monitor’s main attraction is the 144Hz TN panel that Acer has equipped into it which also has 1ms GTG response time.
In terms of pricing, the Predator XB321HK can be obtained for RM 4,799 while the XR342CK, ET430K and XF240H are priced at RM 3,899, RM 2,299, and RM 1,199 respectively. All these new Acer monitors are available from retailers throughout Malaysia immediately.
