The Xiaomi Mi Mix was one of the most talked about smartphones last year, thanks to its futuristic design and bezel-less display. Now, it appears Xiaomi has a new variant of the Mi Mix in the pipeline, and it’s shown to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest processor too.
This unannounced device was spotted on Geekbench’s website, one of the most popular benchmark tools in the market. The listing shows a new variant of the Mi Mix – dubbed Mi Mix Evo – with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor, which is expected to power this year’s flagship smartphones. Other than that, it’s also packing 4GB of RAM and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
Beyond these specifications, not much is known about the Mi Mix Evo. Chances are, this new device should retain the Mi Mix’s sleek-looking bezel-less display. Based on the processor powering the Mi Mix Evo, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to assume that this will be Xiaomi’s first flagship smartphone this year as well, although it still remains to be seen just when the Chinese company will officially unveil it.
Considering the fact that MWC 2017 is set to take place next month, it’s likely that Xiaomi will take the opportunity to unveil the Mi Mix Evo at the event. Hopefully, the Evo will be a global device – unlike the China-only Mi Mix – when it’s officially announced.
