Nintendo is scheduled to talk about the new Switch console later today, but that hasn’t stopped it from opening pre-orders ahead of time. The company announced on Twitter that it will have a limited number of slots available tomorrow; although these will only be sold at the Nintendo NY store.
It’s quite presumptuous of Nintendo to announce a pre-order before revealing anything about the new console. It could that that the company is trying to build a crowd at the store ahead of its big reveal. Especially considering that people are guaranteed to begin lining up to ensure they get a pre-order in.
A limited quantity of pre-orders for the #NintendoSwitch will begin on 1/13 at 9AM while supplies last at #NintendoNYC.

Nintendo is schedule to hold a series of events for both the press and public in the US over the next couple of months. These will start with two private events on 13 and 14 January, with the public getting a chance to try the console starting from the 15th. There is no word on other promotional work being done in other regions, but we wouldn’t keep our hopes up for any official word on the console in Malaysia.
There should be more to say about the Nintendo Switch by tomorrow, and we hope that the Japanese console maker will at least keep the price of the machine competitive.
