(UPDATE – 130PM: Moto has now confirmed that Moto M is officially available in Malaysia from today onwards.)
The Lenovo Moto M has been spotted on sale in Malaysia. A listing for the budget minded Moto device was spotted Satu Gadget; which also curiously included warranty covered by Motorola Malaysia.
As far as specifications go, the Moto M shares few of the components of the rest of the Moto series. It is not compatible with Moto Mods, and sports a MediaTek Helio P15 processor. The rest of the hardware is reasonable for the asking price, at 4GB RAM and 32GB storage behind a 5.5-inch FHD display.
Satu Gadget currently lists the smartphone for RM1,199, which isn’t too far off from its listed 1999 Yuan (about RM1290) price in China where it was originally released. We’ve also seen similar listing at DirectD.
The Moto M was seen on the SIRIM database back in November 2016, which makes this sighting somewhat unsurprising. However, Moto has not officially released any information about a launch in Malaysia yet.
We have reached out to Moto’s representative in Malaysia for more information, but have received little else apart from confirmation that the device is indeed for sale in the country. (UPDATE – 130PM: You should be able to see Moto M at your favorite retailers from now onwards as Moto has officially confirmed the arrival of the new smartphone in Malaysia today.)
