Two unidentified prototypes have been stolen from the Razer booth at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017. Razer CEO Tan Min-Liang posted the news over social media, with a request for anyone with information on the theft to step forward.
Razer had earlier unveiled a pair of prototype devices at its booth on the CES show floor. Project Ariana is a “gaming projector” which is essentially a regular projector designed to cater to the higher resolution required for gaming. While the other is Project Valerie, a triple monitor gaming laptop that turned the most heads during the expo.
As far as we know, Razer only had two copies of each prototype available at its booth. One each on the display and in an experience zone for visitors. There is no indication which of the prototypes were taken.
Little else is known about the incident, although Razer has filed the appropriate reports with the police. No fingers are being pointed at anyone, although the company has not ruled out the possibility of industrial espionage.
