It’s been a while since the initial announcement, but it looks like Samsung is finally ready to launch its iOS apps for its latest Gear family of wearable devices. Starting today, iOS users will be able to use the Samsung Gear S2, Gear S3 and Gear Fit2 on their iOS device with the new Samsung Gear S app for Gear S2 and Gear S3, and Samsung Gear Fit app for the Gear Fit2.
The Samsung Gear S and Gear Fit apps are available for download right now from the Apple App Store. Once downloaded, just follow the guide in the respective apps to set up your compatible Samsung Gear devices. With the new apps, you can track your fitness by monitoring the distance and route travelled, running pace, calories burned, heart rate, and such right from your iPhone. Before this, the Samsung Gear S3, S2 and Fit2 only supported Android devices.
Sadly though, these new iOS apps from Samsung are only available for these listed devices. Other wearables such as the Gear IconX cordless earbuds are not available yet. Of course, this is just the beginning, so hopefully Samsung will expand this and add in more wearables in the near future.
