Making a surprise appearance at the OPPO R9s Malaysian launch yesterday, a new fitness-oriented smart band is about to be released into our market later this month. Compatible with Android and iOS devices, the WeLoop Now 2 Smart Band features plenty of functionalities that are commonly associated with fitness.
As you might able to notice from the photo above, Now 2 doesn’t come with any buttons. Instead, users are able to navigate through the smart band’s user interface via its OLED touch screen. At the same time, Now 2’s module can be removed from its band and is apparently able to last for 14 days with a single charge.
Aside from heart rate, Now 2 also able to keep track the amount of steps that users have taken as well as burned calories and traveled distance. In addition to keeping track of users’ sleeping habit, the smart band is also able to display call, text, and calendar notifications from users’ smartphone.
In terms of durability, WeLoop stated that Now 2 can withstand drop from 2 meters high as well as being submerged underwater up to 30 meters deep. To be made available in Malaysia on 14 January for RM 199, the smart band can be pre-ordered through Satu Gadget starting from 7 January onwards and each pre-order customer will receive an additional band worth RM 39.
