As the new performance-oriented 7th generation Intel Core processors as well as NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti graphics cards were made official this week, plenty of OEMs have took the opportunity announce new or refreshed products featuring these new chips at CES 2017. Dell is one of them who will begin to offer such products very soon.
Included in the list are Dell Inspiron 7000 Gaming laptops which can be obtained with up to 3.8GHz Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor. While both GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti options are available for the 15-inch model, the 14-inch variant is limited to GTX 1050.
Dell has also brought the new Kaby Lake, GTX 1050, and GTX 1050 Ti chips to Alienware products. For example, Alienware 13 will soon come with Core i5-7300HQ as a standard although customers can also choose to have Core i7-7700HQ instead. GTX 1050 2GB/4GB and GTX 1050 Ti 4GB graphics card have also been added as hardware options for the laptop.
Meanwhile, customers can choose to fit Alienware 15 and Alienware 17 with up to Core i7-7820HK processor. Additionally, GTX 1050 Ti 2GB will soon become the lowest-end GPU available for both laptops.
In United States, the new Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming laptop will be released on 5 January for USD 799 (about RM 3,595) onwards while the refreshed Alienware 13 will also be available at the same time with a starting price of USD 999 (about RM 4,494). The GTX 1050 Ti-based Alienware 15 and 17 will then follow suit in 12 January with a price tag that starts at USD 1,199 (about RM 5,394) and USD 1,299 (about RM 5,844) respectively.
For now, there are no official indication on when these newly refreshed models will make their way into Malaysia. It shouldn’t take Dell long though, so stay tuned.
