CES 2017: HP’s Envy Line Now Includes A Curved Display AiO

A new curved display all-in-one computer joins HP’s Envy line of computers at CES 2017. It’s a bit difficult to figure out who this is for, but the hardware seems to indicate that it’s aimed at basic media consumption; with a sprinkling of casual gaming on the side.

The main draw of the Envy Curved All-in-One 34 is the massive 34-inch curved display. It doesn’t quite reach 4K resolution, but is still reasonable impressive at 3440 x 1440. This display sits atop a soundbar which houses the rest of the hardware. HP’s partnership with Bang & Olufsen continues here with the audio being tuned by the company.

Inside the housing is an Intel Core i7-7700T processor paired with 16GB of dual channel RAM. Storage is provided by a 1TB 7200RPM SATA HDD paired with a 256GB PCIe SSD.

The Envy Curved AiO also includes its own graphics card in the form of an AMD Radeon RX 460 with 4GB of GDDR5 RAM. It’s curious that HP chose the Radeon graphics option, especially when everything else that was announced at the trade show features a GPU from Nvidia.

USB ports are aplenty, with the Envy Curved AiO packed with four USB 3.0 and a single USB 3.1 Type-C port. There are also ports for HDMI in and HDMI out. That being said, the specifications only list Wireless LAN and nothing about an RJ45 port. It is rather odd that no physical LAN options are being offered with a desktop computer; especially one of this size.

The HP ENVY Curved All-In-One 34 is expected to be available on HP.com on 11 January starting at $1,729.99 (about RM7800). Select retailers will also be stocking the AiO from 26 February.
